Mi Calavera |
WHAT IS A CALAVERA?
A calavera literally means skull, but in Mexican culture they are used in art and poetry as a way to make fun of the person represented. They show that no matter your social, political, or economical standpoint we all end up with te same fate. WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO PORTRAY IN YOUR CALAVERA? In my calavera, I wrote about a skeleton surfer who was being hunted by a shark. The irony is that the skeleton doesn't have any meat on its bones. It portrays that we chase after fake ideals and fake goals to distract ourselves. |
When writing this obituario I was focusing on conjugating in the past tense and determining when to use the imperfecto tense and the preterio tense. I was able to successfully conjugate my verbs based on subject, but I sometimes still struggle with determining when to use imperfecto and preterio.
