Hello there! My name is Taylor Schermer and I am a student at Animas High School. I have a passion for challenges. I love the satisfaction of solving a problem and leading others to a solution. I love to be outside whether that's snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, or exploring. I live in the beautiful state of Colorado as well as Hawaii.
Feel free to learn more about my high school journey academically, socially, and emotionally all here on my digital portfolio. |
Junior Year 2019 - 20 |
"Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves." (Henry David Thoreau)
Junior year is known as the year of high school where academics become hard. I approach Junior year with an open mindset. I was excited to be challenged and grow as a learner. I joined Student Council, Restorative Justice, took on leadership in the classroom, and advocated for my education. The COVID-19 pandemic occured right before spring break. I went to Hawaii to visit my dad, who lives there, and stayed for the remainder of the school year. I had to adapt to online schooling and life on an island with a four hour time difference. Check out my beautiful work from Junior year below. |

“There are some places so beautiful they can make a grown man break down and weep.”
(Edward Abbey, The Monkey Wrench Gang) Sophomore year was about finding myself. I took the year to explore who I was and what I wanted out of life. I used my classes and social life to discover my strengths and weaknesses.
This year I joined Cloudbusters rocketry team and math club to explore my STEM interests. I also started working at Cedar Lab and Diagnostics as a Lab Aide. Check out my beautiful work from Sophomore year below. |
