Discuss what personal strengths you brought to your group and how you used them throughout this week. How did your strengths help support your team? This week I brought leadership and new ideas to my group. I utilized both of these as we had to problem solve to design and create a table to put the chop saw on. We only had scrap metal to use so I took charge and drew up a design that would be sturdy and look elegant. We learned to weld and I had to adapt to and learn new skills. I also took leadership on the laser cutter to create pencil boxes. When no one else to charge I did.
Discuss what you have learned about yourself and your community by engaging in this two day service project. What was one thing that was surprising to you and why? How do you plan to engage in service to your community in the future? I learned a lot about the Makerlab and it's purpose in Durango. It offers so many opportunities to create, innovate, and grow with new technology. It offers new skills to it's users and can lead to amazing inventions. It surprised me how many people in the community use the Makerlab. There were people ranging in age from 10 to 60 utilizing this space. I want to spend more time at the Makerlab helping other create as well as creating for myself. This space is great for the present and the future of Durango
