Osprey Week is a week-long educational adventure that allows students and staff to learn new content and develop skills while participating in enriching hands-on activities.
AHS’ culture is strengthened through shared experiences which build stronger relationships between students, staff and community members. For Osprey Week, our classroom is the world beyond our school walls. For this Osprey Week, we summoned our inner Edward Abbeys to produce Film, Photography, Painting, Drawing, Prose, Songwriting & Exploration. This trip was for the creative and/or the bold. We will spent 3 days and 4 nights creating our own oasis of artistic excellence at the Indian Creek campground in Southeast Utah, about a 3 hour drive from Animas. We found our own path to beautiful, powerful, revolutionary works while camping in the magic and majesty of the Southwestern Red Rock Desert. Each day included opportunities for yoga, meditation, self-care, deep dialogue about artistic process and product, hikes, sing-alongs and of course lots of delicious meals! We ended our nights around the campfire and under the stars and our week culminated in a Desert Exhibition before returning to Animas on Friday at 1:30pm. |
