Derek the Deer, 2019 Constraints: Watercolor paper, India ink, Acrylic paint, Metallic Paint This has been my favorite art piece I have made. I like the value and depth of the deer. I also really like the pop of color from the flowers. I think the acrylic adds a nice change to the overall composition. It was challenging to determine where to place the flowers and what shape to create them. I like that my art is spread against multiple paper, but I don't like the thickness in the left antler. It doesn't keep consistency. Next time I would try to add more flowers and keep consistency more. |

Mountains, 2019 9" x 12" Constraints: Watercolor paper, watercolor paint, sharpie I really liked the way my art piece turned out. I like the dripping effect between mountains and the fade of color from mountain to mountain. I like the use of sharpie to outline and shade the different textures within the mountain. It was challenging to determine where to use sharpie and how not to overuse it so I did it in pencil first. I like the way watercolor fades with water, but I don't like the lack of darkness within it. Next time I would try to incorporate different color othe rthan just one color. |
