My Projects: Business & Education Connection Website and Logo
LINK 2.0 Reflection
For my LINK 2.0 Internship, I worked with the Business Education Connection to develop my skills of marketing and program start up. My prior knowledge from my LINK Internship allowed me to work creatively and efficiently while designing a logo, website, brochure, business cards, and badges for the Business Education Connection. I developed skills of communication and time management. In the beginning of my internship I was in Hawaii so working around the time difference and over zoom was a challenge at first but it became easier once I returned to Durango and could meet safely. Throughout my internship I had a million other things going on so I had to manage my time well to work on project for the BEC as well as other things in my life.
My biggest challenge was learning to design from scratch. Due to the fact that the BEC was starting up it was difficult to create the image they wanted to portray when the image hadn't been created yet. I worked around this by asking questions to get a feel for what they wanted and work to clarify any gray areas.
I was very thankful for Janae's mentorship because it is opening a lot more doors for internships in a more STEM related field. Working with Janae gave me an insight into the effort it takes to start up a new program and all the behind the scenes work that a lot of people miss out on. I am still considering a more STEM related field for my job in the future, but this internship solidified my need for creativity in my job.
